Choose your course:
You should choose the course and institution which suits you best financially and academically. In Canada, post secondary institutions are divided into university and community college. University offers academic and professional trainings where as community college offers certificate, diploma and vocational training programs. There is no formal accreditation of institutions in Canada; all are uniformly in high quality.
Apply for Admission:
For admission student should provide the academic documents and English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL).
Diploma: 6, Advance Diploma: 6, Bachelor/ Post Graduate/ Master 6.5
In some courses IELTS requirement may be bit high.
Most of the colleges/universities charge application to access, charge varies and it is non-refundable. The government of Canada does not pay for the medical costs of foreign students so you have to contact the College University for health insurance at which you are applying. It is recommended that foreign students ensure that they have health insurance for the duration of their stay in Canada.
The processing time of application is usually ranges from one week to six weeks depending upon the colleges/universities. It is always recommended to apply on time.
Apply for visa: To study in Canada, international student need a study permit. Once you have chosen a place to study you will need to apply to that school, cdaisysh1ollege or university 1 year before the course starts. Student needs to show proof of acceptance from institution, proof of identity, proof of financial support to apply for study permit.
Acceptance: You must include original acceptance letter from institution with study permit application.
Identity: A valid passport and 2 recent passport size photographs.
Finance: Tuition fee payment receipt/Bank statement of sponsor from last 4 to 6 months/ education loan/letter from person who is going to sponsor.
You need to show tuition fee plus CAD 10,000 for a year, incase of additional family member you need to show CAD 4000 additional. In case of Quebec calculation is different.
Accommodation and Job search: There are different forms of accommodation and cost of it so before you leave for Canada, you should make sure that you have place to stay. It is better that you ask your institution or to someone to arrange accommodation for you either in the form of home stay or other accommodation. It is possible to work in Canada while you are here as a student, there are opportunities for jobs on and off campus but you need to apply.
