Make sure you take copies of all documents which include passport, flight tickets, travelers’ cheque, and academic certificates, confirmation of enrollment, orientation schedule and details sent to you by Institution. You should book for your accommodation and airport pickup before leaving.

Make sure you take money with you in form of traveler’s cheque, travel card or cash for living in Canada.

When you enter in Canada, Canada Border Service Agency will ask for valid travel documents. Make sure you carry it with you. Documents include valid passport, letter of introduction from the visa office that your study permit is approved which officer needs for reference of permit reference number. Also you need to show acceptance letter and proof that you have sufficient fund to during your stay in Canada.

Government doesn’t pay for medical expenses for international students. It is always recommended to take a medical coverage and health insurance in Canada. Generally education providers arrange it for their students.

Student can’t take funds more that CAD 10,000, they will be taken action if found so. It can be in cash, securities and negotiable instruments.

Accommodation:

You can choose on-campus or off-campus accommodation, most of the public college and universities have on campus accommodation facilities to the international students. Work while you study:

You may work on campus where you study without a work permit. The education provider should be public post secondary institutions such as college and university, private post secondary school which operates under the same rule and regulation as a public institution also funding should be at least 50% from government grants, private institute authorized by province statute to confer degrees.

International student can apply for postgraduate work permit after they finish their course. The work permit can’t be valid longer than student study permit.
